Get Paid to Write Online

Make Money Writing Online

woman-computer-bedWould you like to make extra money every month, without even leaving home? As a mystery shopper you already possess the skills you need to get paid for writing how-to articles online. If you can tell people how to do things, and give simple step-by-step instructions, you can make money.

This may sound too good to be true, but it is not. It is not money for nothing. You have to write the articles, and you won’t make a lot of money at first. But the articles are easy to write (you may be able to complete one in 15 – 30 minutes) and over time the amount you earn will increase. And here is the best part: Your articles continue to make money for you every month, even in months when you do not write any new articles at all, because the articles you wrote in past months are still out there earning.

You do not have to have your own web site to profit from publishing articles online. There are several sites that will share advertising revenue with you when you publish your articles with them. The one I like best is eHow.com.

At eHow, you publish step-by-step articles that explain how to do something. eHow articles are simple to write. There is an introductory paragraph, followed by three or more steps explaining how to do whatever the article is about. For example, here is an article I wrote about how to become a mystery shopper scheduler. Unlike some other sites, on eHow you retain all rights to your articles, so you can re-use them elsewhere.

If you have tried to make money with a web site or blog, you may have become frustrated with the effort required to get people to come to your site and to actually make money. With eHow, all you need to do is write. Their site is highly ranked in Google and receives a lot of traffic. You may find that an article you published just a few days ago on eHow is already on the front page of the Google search results. That means more people to read your article, more ad revenue, and more money for you.

Although you can write just about any kind of how-to on eHow, your choice of subjects will influence how much money you make. (Hint: Advertisers pay more for ads in competitive niches, or when the products and services they sell are expensive.)

How much can you make? It depends on how many articles you write, and how valuable the topics are. There are many writers who earn hundreds of dollars each month, and some make more than $1000 every month. The most important thing to remember about earnings is that they do not stop just because you take some time off. Even if you are on vacation, or dealing with family issues, or working on something else, your articles are still out there earning for you.

If you want to get off to a great start on eHow, and maximize your earning potential, you should read Earn Passive Income on eHow.com by “Writer Gig” (Maria). She is one of the most successful writers on eHow, and in her ebook she explains in detail how you can do it, too. I found it to be a great help when I was learning all about eHow.

The sooner you get started, the sooner you can start earning passive income at eHow. What are you waiting for? Get Maria’s ebook and get off to a great start today.

I tried to look at both sites and was directed to something that looked like one of those pages when you mis-type something and it’s a page holder or cheap search page. http://residualincomeweb.com/ehowebook.html
Is there a secret to accessing it? Love your articles – have been a big help!

Oops. It appears that the ebook I originally suggested is no longer available. There is another ebook I got when I was getting started that was a great help. I have changed the links in the article to go to Janet Ford’s ebook, How to Write for eHow. It is an excellent resource. I used both ebooks when I was learning about eHow.

    Kathy,

A few years ago I took your class on “How to Become a Mystery Shopper” and I thought it was interesting but as of yet I have not become a shopper (I have your book). I find your information very valuable. My question is: is there a fee to get started on eHow? I enjoy writing.

No, there is no fee to write for eHow. You must have a PayPal account (which is free) because that is how they pay you.

What is neat about eHow is that you make residual income. I wrote a few articles and put them up several months ago. Even though I haven’t been adding any new ones, I still get paid every month because those articles are earning money for me.

You might want to check out the ebook I recommend in the post. I found it useful in getting to know eHow.

Nick, glad the blog is useful to you. Thanks!

There are many sites that will pay you to write. In my opinion, eHow is one of the best, but everyone has a favorite. You might look at Examiner, Suite101, Helium, et al.

    Good luck!
